THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS

  • Hair Growth Support: 5% candlenut oil in nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) formulations increased hair growth in animal models, likely due to essential fatty acids nourishing follicles.
  • Skin Hydration & Psoriasis Care: Small clinical studies show kukui oil is safe as a moisturizer, though anti-psoriasis effects were not significantly different from mineral oil (further research required).
  • Antioxidant & Anti-inflammatory: Demonstrates free radical scavenging activity (DPPH, FRAP assays) and potential anti-inflammatory properties in in-vitro studies.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Candlenut Oil (Kukui Nut Oil) Grade A Carrier Oil is a premium vegetable oil extracted from high-quality Aleurites moluccanus seeds using a cold-pressing process to preserve its natural bioactive compounds. This oil exhibits a pale yellow hue, a soft nutty aroma, and low viscosity for rapid skin absorption.

Key Fatty Acid Composition (GC-MS analysis):

  • Linoleic Acid (C18:2): ~46–62%
  • Alpha-Linolenic Acid (C18:3): ~19–25%
  • Oleic Acid (C18:1): ~14–19%
  • Palmitic Acid (C16:0): ~5%
  • Stearic Acid (C18:0): ~2–3%

Naturally containing Vitamin E (tocopherols) and minor phenolic compounds, candlenut oil offers antioxidant benefits. However, due to its high iodine value (136–167), it is prone to oxidation and should be stored appropriately.
